2022 Scholarship Application
Each year the Grantham Garden Club (GGC) offers financial scholarships to New Hampshire residents preparing for a career in horticulture, landscaping, forestry, agriculture, plant sciences, or environmental sciences at a post-secondary institution. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in or about to enroll in a part-time or full-time certified college, community college, or technical school program in one of these fields.
Please note: the GGC does not award scholarships to students studying fish and wildlife management.
For students in environmental sciences, preference will be given to those interested in topics related to plant life, such as conservation of local plant species, control of invasive plants, or soil conservation.
The GGC determines the amount available for awards on an annual basis. In past years, the club has awarded between $500 and $2,000 to eligible applicants. The total amount may be awarded to one applicant, or divided among multiple qualified applicants, at the club’s sole discretion. Factors that may affect the decision include the number of applications received and the merits of the applicants in a particular year.
We send an award notification to successful applicants, but we send the actual financial award directly to the college or technical school. It may be used for tuition, books, or other expenses that support the recipient’s education.
While not required, the GGC asks that scholarship recipients attend a club meeting and present a description of their program of study and its role in advancing their career goals.
Submission Deadline is April 15, 2022
A signed letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or employer is required and must be sent directly to the Scholarship Committee by the person making the recommendation.
Scholarship applications and letters of recommendation may be submitted starting February 01, 2022 and must be received by the April 15, 2022 deadline.
