2026 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
CLUB MISSION STATEMENT
- promote through education the love of gardening among amateurs
- promote the study of horticulture
- protect our native trees, wildflowers, pollinators, and birds
- encourage civic beautification
- engage in activities that are charitable and educational, including without limitation, awarding educational scholarships and grants in furtherance of this mission
ELIGIBILITY
- The club offers financial scholarships to New Hampshire residents preparing for a career in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, forestry, plant science, or environmental science at post-secondary institutions.
- Applicants must be enrolled (or about to enroll) full-time or part-time in an accredited university, college, community college, or technical school in one of the stated fields.
- Preference is given to applicants with clear career goals and experience (volunteer or paid) related to their chosen field.
- Environmental science applicants: preference will be given for studying topics related to plant life, such as conservation of local plant species, control of invasive plants, or soil conservation.
- The club does NOT award scholarships for studying fish and wildlife management.
APPLICATIONS
- Accepting applications and letters of recommendation starting JANUARY 1, 2026.
- Must be received by the APRIL 5, 2026 submission deadline to be eligible.
- Must be submitted in MS Word or PDF format.
- One signed letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or employer is required.
- Must be emailed by the person making the recommendation.
- Written by someone who knows the applicant's work in an area related to their chosen field.
- Additional recommendations will be disregarded.

AWARDS
- The club determines the amount available for scholarships on an annual basis and has determined the 2026 award will be up to $6,000.
- The total amount may be awarded to one applicant or divided among multiple applicants.
- Factors affecting the decision include the number and merit of qualified applicants received.
- Awards may be used for tuition, books, or other education-related expenses.

NOTIFICATIONS
- Applicants will be emailed when their applications and recommendations have been received.
- Award recipients will be emailed in May/June when the review process has been completed.
