MISSION
The Grantham Garden Club’s mission is to promote the love of gardening among amateurs through education; promote the study of horticulture; protect our native trees, wildflowers, and birds; encourage civic beautification; and engage in related charitable and educational activities by, for example, awarding grants or educational scholarships.

ELIGIBILITY
Each year the Grantham Garden Club (GGC) offers grants to promote its mission and to support project goals deemed to be of significant benefit to the Grantham community. Those eligible to apply must be undertaking educational or project-based activities in Grantham.
Proposed projects must involve horticulture, botany, landscape design, forestry, environmental science, land management or conservation, control of invasive plants, plant or soil conservation, pollinator preservation, protection or education regarding native trees, wildflowers, or birds, as well as other activities or projects within the scope of GGC’s mission. For example, candidates might propose to purchase teaching materials or supplies for educational walks or talks, build a garden, request a contribution to a land preservation or conservation project, bring in guest speakers, or attend gardening classes with the goal of sharing or using the knowledge gained in any such classes to help or educate others in the community.

AWARDS
The GGC allocates up to $500 per award. Applications will be considered throughout the year with reviews typically occurring at the next review meeting held after an application is received.
Grant recipients are required to provide a brief report to the GGC after the project or activity has been completed and to submit receipts for costs incurred. Any unused portions of the grant award must be returned to the GGC.

- Application forms are available on our website at granthamgardenclub.org.
- While a letter of support is not a requirement, any such letter should be sent directly to the GGC by the person writing the letter.
- Applications and letters of support will be accepted January 1st through November 30th or until grant funds have been expended.
