2026 Scholarship Recipients

2026 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Following a lengthy review of the 2026 applications by our Scholarship Team,
the club wishes to thank everyone who applied and congratulate this year's five recipients!

Julia Briggaman

Julia is a rising senior at the University of New Hampshire studying Environmental Conservation and Sustainability. Growing up in New Hampshire, she developed a love for gardening, especially working with native plants, flowers, and fruit-bearing plants, and learning how they support local ecosystems. That early appreciation for plants and their interconnected roles in the environment led Julia to pursue environmental studies. Today, she enjoys visiting local flower and fruit farms throughout New Hampshire and learning more about sustainable land use and agriculture. Julia is passionate about conservation, environmental education, and helping communities connect with and care for the natural world around them. In the future, Julia hopes to become a business owner of a fruit or flower farm, where she can continue fostering education, stewardship, and community involvement in our natural environment.

David Crory

David is a rising Junior at the University of New Hampshire studying Environmental Science: Ecosystems, with a Sustainability dual major, from New Ipswich, NH. David has been involved with sustainability initiatives in the local New Hampshire and Maine areas, as well as in soil health research and shoreline conservation. This summer, David is traveling to Senegal through a grant project at the University of New Hampshire to assist a rural school in implementing sustainable agriculture methods to grow crops to financially support the school. He is excited to work further in the field of sustainability, sustainable business, and environmental conservation and agriculture research in his next two years of study.

Ryan Rechisky

Ryan is from Georges Mills, NH, and studies Environmental Conservation and Sustainability at the University of New Hampshire. He will be entering his senior year in the fall and will be studying abroad in New Zealand through a field-based ecology abroad program called EcoQuest. Ryan loves to play and write music, strength train, and hike and explore the outdoors with his dog. This summer he started an arborist trainee internship with Chippers in Enfield, NH and has really been enjoying the time working in plant health care. Ryan is very grateful to have been rewarded with a generous scholarship by the Grantham Garden Club, and plans to continue his education journey. He hopes to continue making positive impacts on the community and represent the people who have supported his journey!

Haley Sanborn

Haley is a rising senior at the University of New Hampshire, where she is studying Environmental Science. She recently completed her study abroad in New Zealand where she worked alongside the local community to research and advocate for the conservation of native plants, animals, and insects. She hopes to apply her love of nature and experience with field work to a master’s degree in the future studying the microbiome of NH lakes. In her free time, Haley likes to camp, write books, paint, and tend a garden of her own!

Caitlyn Scully

Caitlyn is a rising senior at the University of New Hampshire studying Environmental Conservation and Sustainability with a minor in Marine Biology. Caitlyn’s education at UNH has allowed her to explore all over New England during various marine courses, and even across the world studying ecology in New Zealand. In addition to the incredible courses she has completed, she is also the president of the Organic Garden Club. This club has become an integral part of her time at UNH, as it brings so many students together over their shared love of harvest. Caitlyn is so grateful for each and every opportunity that she’s had during her undergraduate experience and simply cannot wait to see what the future holds. From one garden lover to many others, Caitlyn would like to thank everyone at the Grantham Garden Club for providing her with the chance to fund her last year of college with less financial pressure on her shoulders, and for supporting her in continuing to do what she loves.
